Stepson – Come With Me (New Music)

Brisbane melodic hardcore band Stepson have released a new single and video, as well as announced their Australian tour. Out today is “Come With Me”.

“Come With Me” is high paced, chaotic and heavy. Its choruses veer into heartache territory, expressing an inner tangled mess. It’s not difficult to feel what Stepson are expressing here.

“I want to make you feel
The way that I do
You need to understand
What I’ve been through”

Vocalist Brock Conry made a statement, sharing that “Come With Me” is about “the constant self-deprecation you face when you think you aren’t good enough for some one you truly care about.

Brock expresses the very realness of what “Come With Me” is based on, describing that “The permanent fear of not knowing whether or not you’re good enough for someone who has treated you with nothing but love and respect is completely horrifying and I do not wish it upon anyone. In turn, I loved and lost someone due to my constant push and pull and this song is about how I felt during that very trying time.”

Check out “Come With Me” with its music video below. Stepson will be touring with Stateside and Aburden in July and August. More details on the tour can be sourced HERE and via the tour poster (below).

“Come With Me” Lyrics

I know we said “what if”
And “it always ends the same” but
I’m so sick of thinking that I hurt you
And how I’m so ashamed

Of who I am,
Of who I was,
Or how I made you cry

I swear I’m not ignoring you
I just can’t tell you why

I know you said “Come with me?
Please don’t leave me”

I want to make you feel
The way that I do
You need to understand
What I’ve been through

I want to give you all of me
But I can’t right now
I’m so disappointed in myself
For getting too deep
For getting upset

I don’t like me
Why do you?
And after all I put you through
Why should you care about me?

I want to forget what I’ve done
I just need you to forgive me

I need to be alone
I’m scared you’ll forget about me

I want to make you feel
The way that I do
You need to understand
What I’ve been through

I waited for you
I waited too long
And everytime I think about you
I know I did you wrong

It’s like I had the perfect picture painted in my head
But little did I know
I’d go against everything I said
