Some sad news came from our friends in Boxing At The Zoo yesterday. They have announced on social media that the band have parted ways. 😢
My favourite thing about Boxing At The Zoo is that they always have such a dreamy other-timely sound and vibe to their songs. Listening to a BATZ song is akin to escaping into a fantasy.
“Another Story (Feel So Low)” is the third track from Boxing At The Zoo’s self-titled EP. It feels fraught with tension as the narrator describes having to hear ‘another story’ from a lover; another lie.
“Cause the thought of you with someone else
Makes me feel so low
Makes me feel so cold
The thought of you with anyone but me…”
The song carries a sense of finality, that this person’s words ended the relationship. Despite the heaviness of the topic, it’s still musically dreamy, beautifully done, and very BATZ.
I’m going to miss new music coming from Boxing At The Zoo, and I wish Daniel, Chase, Steven, and Andrew all the best with where their journey takes them next.
