Kings Within – Feel The Rain (Track Of The Day, 29th November)

Our Track Of The Day is a new track from a new band that combines their sonic influences of alternative, melodic hardcore and progressive rock. Adelaide based Kings Within recently released their debut single, “Feel the Rain”, showcasing their unique sound. The band are celebrating the release with small run of tour dates, kicking off December 1st in Adelaide.

From the beginning, “Feel the Rain” is ominous in sound, beginning with a storm before vocals pierce through, trying to reach out to us. Fluid vocals and strong riffs soon give clarity to using the metaphor of weather to focus on our inner ‘weather’. With “Feel the Rain” Kings Within are commenting on mental health as well as encouraging and inspiring.

“Be built of fire, like the sun, burn bright anytime of time of day.
Like stars that light up skies above – shine on, even if it rains. “

With tender concern and encouragement that escalates, we’re urged to allow ourselves to feel and be, whether what we feel is darkness or sunshine, not avoiding the negative or challenging experiences, nor trying to be falsely positive. Being alive means we exist in all kinds of emotional or mental ‘weather’, and Kings Within seem to be inspiring us to have the fullest experience that we can manage, ‘feeling the rain’ in our lives instead of hiding away from reality.

Kings Within reflect the ‘just being’ with a spacious instrumental section before returning to a powerful final chorus, then taking us full circle back to the experience of the storm.
