Glassjaw – shira (New Music)

Fans of New York post-hardcore band Glassjaw have been waiting patiently for this! The band drops their third album Material Control tomorrow (December 1st) via Red Music/Sony Music Australia. Glassjaw’s previous full length release Worship And Tribute was released in 2002.

“shira” is the second single from Material Control, with “new white extremity” previously released in 2015, a whole two years prior to the album release date.

The track is a very cool blend of guitar grittiness, raw frustration, and distorted vocals. Vocalist Daryl Palumbo seems to take us out-of-body at the pre-chorus, before flying high into the chorus. “shira” is a satisfying sonic marriage between light expansion and getting our hands dirty in gritty reality.
