Sydney alternative rock band Dear Seattle have an EP on the way, with the first single from it being “The Meadows”.
“The Meadows” is a cross between a feel-good boozy celebration of Aussie mateship, and angsty defeat. Musically it works both ways, with grungey guitars and a chorus that seems designed to be sung along to while beer soaked.
“The Meadows” feels like an anthem for anyone falling into a spiral of misery that they can’t get out of.
“You’re not lost,
Don’t be scared,
You’ve gotta start building on the hope that you spared.
Trust me, I know you’ll get through it,
I’ve done it before it’s just in your head.”
