Sydney’s Dear Seattle have followed up the impressive and catchy “The Meadows” with a brand new single, “Afterthought”.
Premiering on Australia’s triplej Unearthed, “Afterthought” is another massive track for Dear Seattle. It brings a dreamy introspective 90s grunge vibe, which grows with tension and doubt, before exploding into a grunge thrash-fest.
“Maybe I’m too set in my ways..”
“Afterthought” is spacious in its verses, while soft guitar melody sings along with honest and grounded vocals. Dear Seattle’s sound (which includes its roared choruses) screams festival mosh, making what Brae, Jez, Simmo and Josh have created into something addictive. It’s comforting and connecting in its realness.
“I’m just trying to be somebody,
I’ve got no job and I’ve got no money,
I think with my dick and I over drink
But at least I’m fucking happy”
