Brisbane’s Deadlights have released an impressive epic of a track from their upcoming debut album Mesma (out 21st, April 2017 via Greyscale Records).
Deadlights are a post-hardcore band consisting of Dylan Davidson (vocals), Tynan Reibelt (guitar & vocals), Josh O’Callaghan (drums) and Sean Prior (bass & vocals).
“Invisible Hands” is heavy with concern for a loved one and where things are heading for them. It combines clean with unclean vocals expressing the fear of losing someone, of seeing them sink deeper and falling further away. It also describes putting themselves in the role of a target, to inspire the other person to have some element of life left in them.
“You got caught out by the wind.
Your face got stuck suffering.
Lash out on me if it makes you feel anything at all.
‘Cause there must be something you’ll live for.”
“Invisible Hands” is so beautifully melodic in its grasp onto hope, as well as having crushing breakdowns in fight and refusal to see someone self-destruct.
It’s a powerful track and Deadlights are a band to watch! Mesma can be pre-ordered [HERE]. Check out “Invisible Hands” below.
