DBMK – Planet (Track Of The Day, 10th March)

Our Track Of The Day drops things down a gear, with the mundanities of the day falling free from our grip as we float in the serenity of this song. DBMK have created something special with their 2016 released Sleep EP, and we’ve chosen “Planet” from the EP as our Track Of The Day.

At the introduction of “Planet”, the bells and chimes ringing out double as an alarm to let go of the day to shift into something new, as well as the sound reminding us of a music box that is soothing and softening.

The deep every-cell-of-your-body-vibrating-with-it bass makes the soft vocals even more resonant.

“I was heavy into everything
You were heavy into innocence
You ask me was I keeping clean
I don’t know, can you check my wrist?”

The pulsing and droplet feel along with humming adds a layer of dreaminess to the same repeated vocals and we are feeling both lulled and comforted. Warm chords and a wide open space of sound then pull us present to just be and breathe.

Chimes and “oohs” again carried by deep reverberating bass does the job of transporting us to another planet. DBMK have got our back on this sleep thing, just let it all go.

This is one beautiful piece of music for relaxing and drifting away from wherever you’re stuck, to somewhere free and peaceful. Listen and you’ll love it too.
