Unify Gathering 2020: The Lowdown

As 2019 comes toward its end, that means that we’re ever closer to Unify Gathering 2020! The heavy music camping festival is a bit like ‘heavy music Christmas’ for us, something we very much look forward to. Running from from 9th to 12th January, in Tarwin Meadows in Gippsland, it’s a great excuse to catch up with friends and take in a stacked bill of bands over several days – all conveniently on a single stage.

The Line-Up

So who’s playing? Headlining Unify 2020 with their appearances being their only Australian shows are Architects and The Ghost Inside. After a serious tour bus accident in 2015, LA-based The Ghost Inside have been focused on rehabilitation and recovery. We’re lucky to have them grace the Unify stage. And though Architects were just here in August for their tour for Holy Hell, it’s a welcome return for the band, and I’m looking forward to seeing them back on the Unify stage after catching them in 2018.

It’s a 20 year anniversary show for Canadian rockers Silverstein, and Tonight Alive will be bringing some friends along for their set. We’ll also be treated to scene heavyweights, from Australia and abroad, such as Northlane, Knocked Loose, Kublai Khan TX, Stray From The Path, and more. Pop punk gets a look in with Between You and MeColumbus, and Eat Your Heart Out, and melodic hardcore fans will enjoy soaking up Sleep TalkTapestry, and Weighbridge.

Seems like there’s a little bit of everything, including Triple J Unearthed winners Reside. Behold the Unify Gathering 2020 line-up in full:

Pre-Unify Event

But before the main event, it’s the AM/PM Pre-Party on the Thursday night. Running for the first time at Unify 2019, this was a great warm-up event for keen punters. It looks like it could be just as great in 2020 with a line-up like this, so get there early!

Sunday Sessions

When it’s time to pack up camp and make your way back home, make sure to stop in to the Sunday Sessions. For every Unify Gathering I’ve attended now, the Sunday morning sets have been the relaxing hit of music to rejuvenate me before driving home. Find a spot on the grass and soak up the acoustic versions of songs that these bands/artists have to share.

As of 12th December, we also have a timetable! Plan your day:
