Stick To Your Guns have never been backwards in sharing what’s important to them with their music, creating meaningful songs with aggressively expressed messages in their hardcore style.
Our Track Of The Day is “Universal Language”, in which Stick To Your Guns express their distaste for violent injustices dealt by those in power, including police brutality and using weapons and bombs as a means to resolve conflict.
“When violence is the only language this world comprehends
Don’t be surprised when it speaks in a way you can understand
Constant state of brutal aggression and total devastation
Relentless punishment warrants violent reactions
And we’re all just hanging on by a thread
By a thread, by a thread”
In a statement by Jesse Barnett about “Universal Language”, he shared his “firm distrust and dislike” for anyone who takes a role of authority or superiority over another life. Jesse stated that it has been proven “historically, socially, and scientifically that people with such strong positions of power WILL abuse them”.
Stick To Your Guns are currently in Kenya, the first American hardcore band to do so, giving their passionate activism attention to situations going on in the area such as deplorable living conditions, as shared on Twitter:

It is incredibly moving seeing music be used as a means of standing up for the rights of fellow humans, and also animals, with Stick To Your Guns also speaking up about veganism. We’ll always be Stick To Your Guns fans for this reason.
We’ll let the music of “Universal Language” speak for itself. Have a listen.
