Sleeptalk – Bones (Track Of The Day, 15th March)

Today’s Track Of The Day is a song of heavily-held truth, by Sleeptalk. “Bones” is from Sleeptalk’s 2015 album Young.

After a light introduction, “Bones” has reverberating beats that wash over the listener, matching the expression of overwhelm described in the lyrics, due to secrets being held.

“No one can save me from drowning in my sleep
My lungs wouldn’t dare to fill up
With all the things I never said”

The vocals are echoed and feel held inside the drum beats and the sound is heavy hearted. As we move into the chorus, the layered sounds perfectly express attention pulled in many directions. The bridge takes us into a void with barely a grasp on clarity.
