Today’s Track Of The Day comes from Chicago pop punk five-piece, Sleep On It. “Unspoken” is the band’s first single from their Lost Along The Way EP, released on Equal Vision Records last year.
“Unspoken” starts with a lone guitar, before the catchphrase “It’s been a long year!” is collectively shouted. Vocalist Zech Pluister puts his heart into expressing a lot of attempts that seem to be getting him nowhere except anxious.
“I’m getting lost here,
Overthinking everything I know”
“Unspoken” has a very cool shift at the bridge with layered vocals and a sense of taking a stand: “I’ll never let myself collapse again.” It’s a song that feels heartwarming, as well as emotionally honest.
You can check out “Unspoken” by watching Sleep On It band members get smacked in the face by life (aka dodgeballs) in the music video.
(ps. Sleep On It have been working on new music and we can’t wait to hear it when it’s released!)
