Saviour – The Quiet Calm (Track Of The Day, 3rd February)

We were seeking something dark, heavy and with female vocals. Pretty specific, huh. Fortunately Saviour‘s “The Quiet Calm” came to the rescue, and is our Track Of The Day today.

Saviour have a (seemingly) unique combination of dual male & female vocals in the field of metalcore. Shontay Snow brings a clear and calm female voice, and Bryant Best brings an emotive powerful scream as well as clean male voice. We love the dynamic made by the combination of the two and what it brings to the entire feel of Saviour’s music.

“The Quiet Calm” has a feel of dreamy escapism with Shontay singing a repeated phrase:

When did my angels become my demons?
Show me some gravity,
Set me free forever.”

In the meantime the song has a wrestling with demons and Bryant demonstrates this fight along with the drums, strings and guitars amping up.

So fuck what they say
I know it feels like everything drifted away
But they don’t know you like I do
So just keep patient
Just keep calm”

Lose yourself in “The Quiet Calm”.
