Knuckle Puck – Gone (Track Of The Day, 24th October)

Chicago based pop punk band Knuckle Puck have our Track Of The Day today with “Gone”. The track comes from the band’s sophomore full length album Shapeshifter, which was released on October 13th.

“Gone” has just had a music video released for it in conjunction with the band playing at a birthday party in Northwest Indiana. The footage of this incredible above-and-beyond party, including the guys of Knuckle Puck joining in on the festivities, was released on Friday.

“Gone” speaks of a broken relationship which has then had the pair crossing paths sometime later. While both have changed in the process of their separation, there’s still resentment toward this person, and their tendency for ‘Irish goodbyes’, and how they “stole it all away”.

“Cause when I saw you I lost you all over again”

The five piece hit hard with “Gone”, with the tables being turned. They’ve changed within themselves, and despite pangs, know they can’t go back. They feel her discomfort, and recognise the satisfaction in her feeling now how they did then. A lot happens in this reuniting of the two.

Despite the tension, the track is catchy and high energy and works brilliantly with the party vibe captured in the video. Watch below, or stream via Spotify.
