Adelaide melodic hardcore band Hindsight have our Track Of The Day today, because they’re sharing some very good news. The five piece will be joining Californian bands Stick To Your Guns and Being As An Ocean as support on their tour of Australia, on all dates except Perth.
Along with Hindsight, Cast Down (Melbourne), Homesick (Sydney), UNI/VS (Brisbane), Coves (Adelaide) Daybreak (Perth) and Vacant Home (Perth) will be local supports opening the shows.
Our Track Of The Day, “Night Light”, is the fifth track from Hindsight’s Disposable Paradise EP, released in 2016. It’s a raw and hearty helping of disgust poured out in the direction of someone who is no longer around, via aggressive riffs and roars of distaste. The track makes it pretty clear that they’ve been left brutalised by their connection with another, and they want that other to be hurting (too).
“You are the devil within me
You are the devil within my soul
I hate you”
The anguish in brokenness is expressed bluntly throughout, capturing exactly the fallout is of this relationship. It hits a peak at the bridge, when a drop into heavy heartedness and distortion breaks free from a walking-underwater feeling into a final statement of satisfaction in their former lover’s loneliness.
The raw intensity that Hindsight bring with their music along with melodic and emotive elements will have them right at home on this tour with the Californian heavyweights.
