Dream On Dreamer – Love (New Music)

Things couldn’t be going better for Dream On Dreamer: They not only appeared on the Unify Gathering line-up this year – and impressed many with their performance – but they have a tour two weeks away with The Getaway Plan AND have just released a brand new single.  The beautiful “Love” also comes accompanied with a music video created by Ed Reiss, who has previously worked with the band music videos, including the stunning “Don’t Lose Your Heart”.

Beginning tenderly and intimately, in a scene of snow with vocalist Marcel Gardacz earnestly sharing toward the camera, “Love” takes us into the experience of lovers drifting apart. Evolving into tandem vocals, the questioning and intensity grows, wondering how the two came to be this point. Slamming home at the chorus, the truth lands solidly:

“Darling, our love has changed.”

Progressing intently, with drum focus mirroring the emotionally fraught and challenging experience of relationship tension, “Love” continues to sonically grow. The listener’s attention is pulled toward erratic rhythms and static as the difficult and inevitable truth is faced.

Dream On Dreamer have powerfully captured the experience of lovers in disintegration, capturing the “driving in slow motion for the edge” state of observing something occurring without any way of stopping it. The movement between vocal honesty and urgency works well to reflect the dire dynamic of pleas to remedy their connection falling upon ears that no longer seem to care.

In the video, Ed Reiss has used colour, multiple layers, and the metaphor of snow to reflect the sense of nostalgic hopefulness, but also separation of parts, and the bond turning cold. Watch “Love” via YouTube, and find tour dates with The Getaway Plan below.
