Melbourne’s Dream On Dreamer have our Track Of The Day today with something that was released back in 2015. In stumbling across its video on YouTube, I felt the track was too beautiful not to share.
“Don’t Lose Your Heart”, as absorbed along with its music video, immediately feels like you’re watching a movie unfold. Its cinematic stylings continue with a dramatic introduction that take us with Zach Britt’s angelic vocals from a studio setting to out into a forest.
We watch Marcel Gadacz moving through an experience of hauntedness, adding to the expansive sound with his whispered and tender vocals. In gaining strength and power of determination and fight, we are urged along with him to keep going, and to keep trying, in our own way.
The powerful and stirring choruses act like a compassionate hand reaching out. Not merely in sympathy, but in strong support. Even when you feel you’ve lost everything and hit bottom, let the fire of your passion and purpose be set alight. Let it be enough to breathe life back into your soul.
“Remind yourself, you’re breathing”
A captivating and beautiful bridge takes us back to life-affirming basics: We exist, we’re human, we’re alive. We can make it through this darkness.
With piano alight (literally), and Zach still passionately playing, and Marcel fighting against waves in the ocean, the message of “Don’t Lose Your Heart” shines through: Do not give up on what calls you, despite obstacles and effort in your way!
The beauty continues as the song fades out, and we’re left feeling thankful for what Dream On Dreamer have shared with us.
