Bilmuri – Melancholy (New Music)

Columbus based Bilmuri have released a new single, “Melancholy”. The project of Attack Attack! former vocalist Johnny Franck, Bilmuri’s discography is a prolific cornucopia of music from 2016 to present, including 6 albums.

“Melancholy” is the latest from Bilmuri, and comes complete with this finely crafted, professionally produced artwork that showcases a real passion for graphic design:

MS Paint aside, the track itself is a refreshing take that transports us to the wilderness that exists between EDM and post-hardcore. We’re greeted by birds tweeting as a sweet riff billows over the track. It’s soon apparent with the earnest heaviness and digital-edged verses that we’re taken into someone’s experience of being ‘so low’.

“Melancholy” is polished while still retaining substance with emotive vocals. Pulsing bass-heavy beats combined with searching vocals, gritty riffs, and empassioned screams never sounded so good. At a duration of 2:36, it feels over all too soon, making it perfect fodder for multiple repeats.

New to Bilmuri, I’m intrigued by “Melancholy” and other tracks I’ve had the opportunity to absorb, such as “Gradient” and “You”. Check out “Melancholy” via Spotify now. We’ve also added this treasure to our Spotify playlist: The Depth List: 2018.
