Featuring two familiar faces from the world of heavy music, Beach Panic! have landed as a fresh and unexpected flavour of sound. While still in Belle Haven, Beach Panic! members Tom Mitchell and Daniel Marinakis have embarked on this new project together along with visual artist Yannica Stakelbeck-Keily. It’s a brighter expression than the emo/punk world of music we’ve known from the two, but one that works nonetheless!
Complete with stage names to match the vibe of playful creativity, the trio of Daddy Long Legs (Tom), Dr M. Flamingo (Daniel), and Tequila Sunrise (Yannica) seem to imbue everything they touch with a fruity and colourful magic. This comes across in every image and every second of their music videos. The musical contributors of production, drums, and voice are also wrapped up in playful mystery, with each using a different moniker to represent them: Lord Ort (aka Christopher Vernon) was at the helm for engineering, mixing, and mastering, Big Papa played drums, and Dark Magik and Lady Bing contributed additional vocals.
Newest single “Dance ‘Till Your Feet Bleed” is the second track of Beach Panic!’s upcoming debut EP Ride The Tiger, which is planned for release on 20th September. It’s also the second single released by the band, following their debut single “Tsunami of Love” which released in June. Said to be “the perfect remedy to get rid of those pesky love-blues”, the new single hooks into the joy of love and being present with someone special. Instead of being drowned by fears, they’re going to dance instead.
With a rainbow coloured video full of Beach Panic! and friends literally dancing, it’s an easy tune to fall into and enjoy the fun along with them. Of the music video, Dr M. Flamingo says it was a “great excuse for us to throw a party with our friends”. He adds “The song is about pure elation so, we saw fit to shoot some scenes in some of our favorite places, in some VERY loud outfits of course.”
