Today’s Track Of The Day is not for those with delicate sensibilities. It comes from Attila, after all, who are known for their brashness and distinct lack of fucks given. This is what endears them to many.
From their album CHAOS, I’ve fallen in love with “Moshpit” featuring EDM artist Ookay, and it is our chosen Track Of The Day today.
“Moshpit” is sheer ridiculousness to the point that it’s awesome. I only have to think about this song and it puts a smile on my lips, for a couple of reasons.
Firstly the sound. It’s so grand in its build-ups and beats, and the effects are laid on thick. The bass is heavy as anything, to the point of feeling like collisions, as is the drumming. And the build-ups: One of them dies out to a simple deadpanly uttered “Uh” (I love this more than I should), others run straight into the ultimate catchphrase: “Fuck this shit, you can find me in the moshpit!” and then a tinny beat breakout. It’s so good.
Secondly the lyrics couldn’t be more fantastical and braggy if they tried:
“Take another minute to relive it and admit it that your boy is going at it at a supersonic pace
I can turn a track into a bomb, light it up, take a grip, then I throw it in your face”
And the thing is that despite all the huff and puff, he’s not wrong. The track is a bomb and is completely in your face and awesome. It’s also completely satisfying to blast this track at times when adulting is too hard and an escape is needed.
