Eighth on Alpha Wolf‘s album Mono is “Failvre”. With this track, the Melbourne heavy five piece take us to dark depths, in more ways than one.
“Failvre” is uncomfortable skin crawling anticipation and clammy palms in the grips of anxiety. “Failvre” is waiting for life to get you, to the point where you want to get in first and ‘get yourself’ before life has a chance.
“Failvre” is looking for ways out of this state and leaning on prescription drugs, booze and other so-called fixes in the process, while still feeling broken and hopeless. “Failvre” is screaming in raw agony and wondering if you’ll be heard or helped.
“Perpetually failing, consistently bleeding
Over and over again”
“Failvre” is thudding beats to match a thudding heart in an aching chest, echoing riffs that echo the overwhelm, and eerie melodic accents reflecting a quest to escape your goddamn self.
Alpha Wolf kept nothing held back in Mono and “Failvre”‘s raw dive into isolation and loneliness is courageous as well as brilliantly heavy.
