Air Ralley – Silence (Track Of The Day, 20th May)

We fell in love with the sound of pop punk band Air Ralley when we reviewed their EP Oh, How Your Mind Wanders.

We were excited to see a new video released by Air Ralley (directed and shot by Garrett Johnston), with a shortened version of their powerful track “Silence”. Beautiful high quality live footage of the band was captured when they were playing for a sold out crowd at Indiana Wesleyan University, in their hometown of Marion, IN. The changes of intensity in “Silence” make the song a perfect soundtrack with which to showcase the band from sedate setup footage to full chaotic flight on stage.

In our review of the EP, we described “Silence” as being ‘further into depth of emotion’, feeling far far away from the sunnyness of “Always & Forever” at the first track.

“It’s sombre and painful with tender vocals over gentle guitar (“Please don’t give up on us”). There is so much emotional pain in this track, with more unanswered (and unheard?) questions to God. Musically the pain is set alight and translated into heaviness, with silences left. There’s something so beautiful about the entire story that this song is sharing and it deserves a deep deep listen.”

We love the video and it gave us a good excuse to listen to Air Ralley again. These guys are so good! Check out Oh, How Your Mind Wanders EP by streaming below, after watching the band’s live video.
