Vinyl Theatre – New Machines (New Music)

Indie rock trio Vinyl Theatre (Keegan Calmes, Chris Senner and Nick Cesarz) have been working hard on their sophomore album, Origami. On 9th February, they released FOUR tracks from Origami: “30 Seconds”, “New Machines”, “My Fault”, and “The Island”.

It was honestly hard to choose one to focus on and share with you. But it’s tough (okay, impossible) to go past a really raunchy bass and a good heavy beat, and that’s what we found in “New Machines”.. along with really grabbing melodies and pockets of awesomeness, such as the bridge where you can feel it build and build and build, before it drops into a sweeeeet breakdown (insert heart eyes emoji here) before the track comes to a strong close.

Aside from the musical wow factor, the song speaks about the theme of intelligence hitting its peak, unknown knowledge, where we go beyond seeming like we know all there is to know and technology’s role in that. It’s similar subject matter to where Avenged Sevenfold were going with The Stage. From the lyrics:

“Cause there’s these infinite possibilities lost stars black holes
All a symphony unexplored
But you’re just so sure you got it figured out”

We’re looking forward to Origami when it’s released on May 12! Check out “New Machines”. 😍
