I couldn’t have asked for a better start to a rainy and cold Monday morning than to have Stick To Your Guns show up on shuffle. Their fury-drenched sound was the fire I needed to soak up and start the day, when I would have rather stayed snuggled up at home.
Stick To Your Guns are outspoken about things that matter, using their music as platform for inspiring change.
“No Tolerance” (the third track from their Better Ash Than Dust EP) is complete rejection of a world where racism, sexism and homophobia exist as part of normal life.
“Misguided hate and depthless love
With no one left to take from
For your world of fictitious bliss
We’ve got no tolerance”
As well as hitting powerfully in message, “No Tolerance” is brilliant in its heaviness, swinging from high-paced punk to core-shaking beats. I witnessed this played live at The Corner Hotel with Bryan Garris of Knocked Loose joining in at the last gasp of the track (“What the fuck did you expect / In a world that is unjust”).
Doesn’t get much better than this! Where’s the fire emoji? Check out “No Tolerance”.
