Today’s Track Of The Day is a letter to a past self courtesy of Natalie Claro. We fell in love with this track when we reviewed Natalie’s Atychiphobia EP.
Natalie has shared openly her experiences as a kid in middle school, where her independence and confidence was seemingly taken as a threat to other kids her age, leaving her frequently in the uncomfortable position of having no friends and being left on her own.
Her song “Baby Bug” is cheering on that rejected younger self, reassuring her that there is something greater and brighter ahead. That she won’t always be a small and scurrying baby bug.
“I want the best for you, baby bug.”
Musically, the light piano of the track suits the call back to a younger self. As the song continues, the sound grows and builds, matching a whole lot of passion and love for that baby bug to pay attention and hang in there.
It gives me goosebumps with the sweetness and magic of it all. Have a listen and see what you think.
