Today’s Track Of The Day comes from SoCal post-hardcore band, Dayshell. Dayshell are Shayley Bourget, Jordan Wooley and Zack Baker and the track we’ve chosen is “Terrified”, from their amazing sophomore album, Nexus (on Sumerian Records).
Nexus is a piece of art wrapped up in heaviness and clean vocals. We fell in love with it and every song on it. “Terrified” is one of many songs on Nexus that we love, but if we have to choose one it’s hard to go past that signature riff..
“Terrified” is a song of confrontation, each verse starting with a sense of floating before gradually building up into a confrontation.
“Stop spreading the truth if you know what’s good for you!”
Oh but the bridge. The bridge. Time stands still while Shayley’s angelic vocals ripple out and that signature riff plays around it, grounded by heavy drums and a raunchy bassline.
